About the Artist APUDO

Apudo and his family come from the mountains of Guerrero, Mexico. They are Aztec descendants, indigenous to Central Mexico. They still speak Nahuatl, a language that dates back to the 7th century AD. Apudo and his wife Tuti have 3 children. A daughter Jasmin who is 11, two sons, Augustin, who is 12 years old, and Francisco who is 4 years old. Augustin and Jasmin are in school. The entire family has artistic talents. They all enjoy painting and even little Francisco is starting to draw pictures. Apudo has enrolled in an art school and is learning how to paint on canvas.

Apudo and his family are part of our Fair Trade practice. Atlantic Accents pays our artisans directly. We work with the artisans to formulate prices that reflect the actual production time and true cost of materials.
